The setting of the community is in the beautiful foothills of the Clwydian range, marking the historic boundary between England and Wales. With ancient castle sites on opposing hills, Roman remains, Mediaeval castle ruins and bisected by Wats and Offas Dykes as well as the River Alyn.

Nature is abundant on the moorland of Hope Mountain, along the river and around the lake at Park in the Past.

With two train stations, one of the leading secondary schools in Wales, a new doctors surgery and numerous shops and pubs, it is a vibrant community
