Annual Events
Following the council approving a Calendar of Events for the coming year, a schedule including dates of events, dates of advertising, dates of judging etc was approved as follows:
(**please note that it may be necessary to amend dates and even cancel events at short notice)
MARCH 2026
· St David’s Day, 1st March
o 2x flags will be flown (1x St David’s and 1x Welsh)
JUNE 2026
· Hanging Basket/Planter Competition
o Advertise after the June Council Meeting (3rd June)
o Closing date for Applications – Sunday 19th July
o Judging to take place during w/c 20th July
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and then announced at the September meeting
SEPTEMBER 2026
· Halloween House Decoration
o Advertise after the September Council Meeting (2nd September)
o Closing date for Applications – Friday 30th October
o Judging to take place – Saturday 31st October
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and announced at the November meeting.
OCTOBER 2026
· Annual Grant Applications
o Advertise after the October Council Meeting (7th October)
o Closing date for Applications – Friday 20th November
o Working Group to review applications either Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th November
o Working Group to submit recommendation of awarded grants at the December meeting.
o Payments will then be included in the December/January accounts for payment
NOVEMBER 2026
· Remembrance Service & Parade
o This event is not organised by the council, but as soon as details are confirmed they will be shared.
· Christmas Lighting & Decoration Competition
o Advertise after the November Council Meeting (4th November)
o Closing date for Applications – Monday 21st December
o Lights/decorations must be displayed 22nd December – 31st December
§ Lights and Decoration displays can be inside the home as long as it can be seen from the road e.g internal window displays
o Judging to take place during between 22nd December – 31st December (time tbc)
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and then announced at the February meeting
