Annual Events
Following the council approving a Calendar of Events for the coming year, a schedule including dates of events, dates of advertising, dates of judging etc was approved as follows:
(**please note that it may be necessary to amend dates and even cancel events at short notice)
MARCH 2024
St David’s Day
o 2x flags will be flown (1x St David’s and 1x Welsh).
JUNE 2024
D-Day 80 – 6th June 2024
Hanging Basket/Planter Competition
o Advertise after the June Council Meeting (5th June)
o Closing date for Applications – Sunday 21st July
o Judging to take place during w/c 22nd July
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and then announced at the September meeting
SEPTEMBER 2024
Halloween House Decoration
o Advertise after the September Council Meeting (4th September)
o Closing date for Applications – Wednesday 30th October
o Judging to take place - Thursday 31st October
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and announced at the November meeting.
OCTOBER 2024
Annual Grant Applications
o Advertise after the October Council Meeting (2nd October)
o Closing date for Applications – Friday 22nd November
o Working Group to review applications either Monday 25th or Tuesday 26th Nov
o Working Group to submit recommendation of awarded grants at the December meeting.
o Payments will then be included in the December/January accounts for payment
NOVEMBER 2024
Remembrance Service & Parade
o This event is not organised by the council, but as soon as details are confirmed they will be shared.
Christmas Lighting & Decoration Competition (residential)
o Advertise after the November Council Meeting (6th November)
o Closing date for Applications – Wednesday 18th December
o Lights/decorations must be displayed 19th December – 31st December
§ Lights and Decoration displays can be inside the home as long as it can be seen from the road e.g internal window displays
o Judging to take place during between 19th December – 31st December (time tbc)
o Winners will be informed, advertised on social media and then announced at the February meeting
