Hope Station - Network Rail
Message from Network Rail
Changes to Hope station:
Temporary south-bound platform closure
As you may already be aware, we are making some improvements to Hope station to make it
safer for station users.
To increase train services between Wrexham and Bidston, we need to close the passenger crossing
between platforms and create a fully accessible route from one platform to the other. To enable
this to happen, we are creating a brand new entrance to the station from Llwyn Alun.
Temporary south-bound platform closure
From Monday 21 November to Friday 16 December, the south-bound platform at Hope station
(for trains towards Wrexham), will be temporarily closed. This means that trains travelling
between Bidston and Wrexham won’t be able to stop at Hope station. Trains travelling northbound
will continue to call at Hope station as normal.
For passengers travelling towards Wrexham from Hope, a shuttle bus service will run between
Hope station and Caergwrle station (approximately a 5 minute journey). Our advice to passengers
is to plan ahead at www.tfw.wales.
When will work take place?
Our teams have been working since mid-September at Hope station. Work will continue both
during the daytime and overnight until early-December as follows:
Monday 12 September – Friday 18 November Monday to Friday, daytime 07.30 – 17.00
Monday 21 November – Friday 9 December Monday to Friday, overnight from 21.00 – 06.00
Monday 12 December – Friday 16 December Monday to Friday, daytime 07.30 – 17.00
Monday to Friday, overnight, from 21.00 – 06.00
We will be using a range of machinery and hand tools to undertake this work.
Our teams are aware that they are working close to your home and will try to minimise disruption
as much as possible, but we apologise in advance if you are disturbed during this work.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions or concerns about the work taking
place, please call our 24-hour National Helpline on: 03457 11 41 41 or visit www.networkrail.co.uk/contactus.
Yours sincerely
