JUDGING:

Judging will take place during the 2nd week of August 2020.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Judges will be looking at the following:

  • VISIBILITY – How visible from the front of the house?  Please note if houses have items such as streetlamps/trees not within their boundary this is not counted.

  • ORIGINALITY – How original?  Is it the only type of scarecrow? E.g. are there more than 1 of the same?

  • AESTHETICS – How aesthetically pleasing is the scarecrow?  How much attention to detail has gone into this (e.g. this should be age appropriate, if made by a child for example).

  • HANDMADE – How much attention to detail has gone into it?  E.g. does it simply have a pre-made costume on or has it been custom made?

  • COMPLEXITY – How complex was the scarecrow to make?  E.g. is it stood up straight (max of 3 points) or in a complex position/dangling off a building etc.

  • RECYCLABILITY – Are recyclable materials used?  Plastic is a big no-no.

  • SURROUNDING AREA – Are there interesting props etc contributing to the scarecrow?
