FCC Consultation - Council Tax Premium Scheme
Consultation on the review of the Council Tax Premium Scheme for long term empty properties and second homes.
The Flintshire County Council is currently undertaking a consultation as part of the process of reviewing the council tax premium scheme and the levels which are charged on second homes and long-term empty properties in Flintshire.
Flintshire County Council introduced a local premium scheme in 2017 to encourage owners to bring properties back into full use. Since then a council tax premium of 50% has been charged on second homes and long–term empty properties.
The consultation is now live until 6th December and will explore if the premium should be reduced, remain the same or increased and to what percentage levels?
